Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. is accepting applications for an Asphalt Plant Operator in Tamina, Texas

 Monday - Friday ( Some Saturdays ) Full Time Position.

Pay rate - $25.00 DOE*

 

Job Requirements

  • Operate computerized control systems to produce asphalt mixtures according to specifications.
  • Monitor plant operations including aggregate feed, drying, mixing and load-out processes.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, loader operators, and ground crew to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plant operation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate production logs and inventory records.
  • Assist with plant shutdowns, start-ups and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to coordinate production activities.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance and transportation.
  • The duties can change daily depending on the project and weather.
  • Must be able to pass physical and drug test.
  • Candidate should be minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Ambitious, dependable, and have a good work ethic.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training in plant operations or mechanics is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience operating an asphalt or aggregate plant.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with asphalt mix designs, material handling and production quality control.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, gauges and computerized controls.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor industrial environment with exposure to dust, heat and machinery.
  • Requires standing, climbing and lifting for extended periods.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and overtime based on production needs.
